The deputy registrar shall forward the amount of the cost of the laminating materials to the registrar for deposit as provided in this section. C The registrar may waive the examination of any person applying for the renewal of such a license or endorsement who is on active duty in the armed forces of the United States or in service with the peace corps, volunteers in service to America, or the foreign service of the United States if the applicant has no physical or mental disabilities that would affect the applicant's driving ability, had a valid Ohio driver's or commercial driver's license at the time the applicant commenced such active duty or service, and the applicant's license is not under suspension or revocation by this state or any other jurisdiction. C Whoever violates division A 3 of this section is guilty of a misdemeanor of the first degree. F Whoever violates division E of this section is guilty of a minor misdemeanor.
Restriction 9 — Temporary Lawful Resident This restriction indicates that the holder of a credential has temporary lawful status in the United States. The driver's license for licensees under twenty-one years of age shall have characteristics prescribed by the registrar distinguishing it from that issued to a licensee who is twenty-one years of age or older, except that a driver's license issued to a person who applies no more than thirty days before the applicant's twenty-first birthday shall have the characteristics of a license issued to a person who is twenty-one years of age or older. If, within three years of the offense, the offender previously has been convicted of or pleaded guilty to two or more violations of this section or a substantially equivalent municipal ordinance, the offense is a misdemeanor of the first degree. A The operator of a motor vehicle shall display the operator's driver's license, or furnish satisfactory proof that the operator has a driver's license, upon demand of any peace officer or of any person damaged or injured in any collision in which the licensee may be involved. Except as provided in division B or C of this section, the deputy registrar shall be allowed a fee equal to the amount established under section of the Revised Code for each identification card issued under this section.
This joint and several liability is not subject to section or of the Revised Code with respect to a tort claim that otherwise is subject to that section.
